The end of the football season usually heralds two things; retrospective articles and acknowledgements, or unsubstantiated column-inch filling rumour-mongering. You will be glad to hear that at Viva Rovers we very much favour the former and to reiterate this point we thought we’d kick off our look back at the season before it has even reached its end. Today sees the launch of our first Readers’ Player of the Year poll, which can only mean one thing, yes that’s right, we’ve fathomed out how to use the poll feature on our website template.
Rather impose our own choice of the key Rovers’ Player from the past nine months, we have decided to let you the audience speak, as if this was some kind of democracy or form of interactive media. To narrow down the field, and retain some element of egocentric control only Rovers’ players who have made more than 15 starts this season are eligible for your vote, giving a neat fifteen nominees for you to choose from. As a reader of Viva Rovers we trust you to make a considered decision, factoring in constituent elements such as consistency of performance, demeanour, approachability, the player’s standing as an ambassador of the club and whether he responded to your request for a birthday retweet.
Please post your vote in the table below, sadly we are not using the AV model…
