Hayt the Player (of the Month)

Congratulations to James Hayter who has today been announced as the Npower Championship’s Player of the Month for November.  Hayter aka “the Isle of Wight-born hitman” (Chris Mortley) picks up the award after his impressive run of five goals in five games during November, finding the target against Reading, Millwall, Burnley, Portsmouth and Swansea as Rovers edged up the table to seventh spot prior to defeat at Crystal Palace.

Hayter was chosen ahead of Norwich City’s Grant Holt, Bristol City’s Steven Caulker and QPR’s Adel Taarabt to receive the award. Now joint top-scorer for the Rovers, alongside James Coppinger and Billy Sharp on six goals, Hayter’s Player of the Month trophy is a fitting accolade to acknowledge an impressive month of performances
