What does it say about me when that headline still makes me smile, despite having no doubt used it more than once already? Oh and before I get hounded by Paul Heffernan’s army of Rovers followers, and they are a loyal bunch not to be crossed, I mean its the word play which makes me smile, not the news itself. The story here is that Doncaster striker Paul Heffernan has today moved out on loan, joining Bristol Rovers on a month long deal.
For some reason the Doncaster Rovers’ official website was showing little confidence in it’s club secretary as twice in a six sentence story on this move they made references to it being dependent on the correct paperwork, as if Heffernan was crossing a border in a war film rather than moving to League One. Anyway, supposing Donald Pleasance has worked his magic with Heff’s transportation papers the striker is expected to go straight into Paul Trollope’s side for the Pirates’ game with Walsall tomorrow night. Bristol Rovers fans will be hoping Heffernan is as prolific for them as he was against them, having scored in each of his last three appearances against the Memorial Ground club for Doncaster.
