Of late it’s been easy to tell when a Rovers game is likely to be off, as the last two have been postponed within an hour of the Viva Rovers twitter feed declaring that they will probably be on. It was a cold but sunny day in the capital yesterday, but the low light was seemingly not enough to penetrate a frozen Griffin Park and so when I should have been excitedly taking my place on a the away terrace I was skulking out of Paddington on a rickety First Great Western service. Unsurprisingly it was no substitute, but did boast a better atmosphere than the Ricoh Stadium.
Although the Rovers’ official website is yet to confirm the exact date of the rearrangement the obvious day, and that being suggested by the BBC, is Tuesday 13th January. Tuesday is indeed Brentford’s designated midweek fixture date and so it is highly unlikely that this game will be placed anywhere else. Sad news for us though, as the day job means I won’t be able to escape Viva Towers for a midweek sojourn to the capital. However, the silver lining is that we will now feature in the fourth round draw when it is made later today.
