I make no apologies for the obvious headline, nor to the raft of bankers who may have stumbled across this story after an optimistic spot of Googling. This story thankfully has nowt to do with Ollies or Tarquins bouncing back the terrifying point where they almost had to sell off some of the wine cellar, but does have plenty to do with good news for Rovers fans. Brian Stock is getting well, and soon.
Rovers’ club captain and tactical fulcrum was last seen by many jogging gingerly from the pitch at The Hawthorns in September. An ankle injury proved to be more serious than first though and after two bouts of surgery Stock was set to be occupying a place in the stands well into the New Year. As such, the announcement today that the midfielder could be back in the training this week is a surprise and welcome piece of news.
“Brian is flying,” an apparently delighted Sean O’Driscoll told the Rovers’ official website, revealing the unorthodox methods the medical team have gone too to keep Stock off his injured ankle. After a visit to a specialist today it was hoped that the player would be able to resume training tomorrow and be set for a return at the turn of the year. “Fitness-wise, he looks really fit” concluded O’Driscoll, in what statement-wise was an effective statement
