Throughout these many editions of Viva Video it has become apparent that very little time is actually given over to Rovers manager. The conductor of our fluid orchestral football, in this section alone, is not given coverage which reflects his influence. Admittedly O’Driscoll himself would probably have it no other way given his unwillingness to be caught up in modern day football media hype.
So, for this week’s edition of Viva Video I have for a start stretched generously the descriptive term ‘video’, but as a result you get two and a half minutes of Sean O’Driscoll at his best. This clip was actually linked from The Times’ website the other day and described as ‘famously taciturn’. It would be hard to put it across in any other way. A lot of Rovers fans have questioned O’Driscoll’s media skills in recent years, but personally I think they’re perfect. Frank, to the point and a disregard for token media comments. All perfectly demonstrated in this clip.
