Well it’s been a day of unsubstantiated rumour and idle gossip masquerading as news, so a day not unlike any other for S** Sports basically. However, come the official closure of the transfer window at 5pm today Rovers had confidently announced one new signing, even going so far as to put it on the official club website. Scottish youngster Jack Wilson has joined on a short-term deal.
Wilson is a product of the youth system at Hibernian a club with whom he had remained until very recently when he left Easter Road to pursue his career elsewhere. The young midfielder was recommended to Sean O’Driscoll by current Celtic boss Tony Mowbray who suggested Wilson would suit Rovers style of play, and the player has been with Rovers over the course of the past week. Sadly Wilson was not available for the official photo call so the club arranged for a ballboy to pose instead… unless that’s really him.
