There is welcome news for Rovers fans tonight as it seems Matt Mills will remain at the Keepmoat Stadium after Billy Davies and Nottingham Forest unveiled their latest signing. After openly courting Mills all summer it seems that Forest manager Billy Davies has finally accepted that Nottingham Forest have little appeal over Doncaster Rovers these days and has instead successfully pursued an alternative. Davies unveiled his new signing at a press conference today adding that their new acquisition would bring ‘much valued experience’ to the club.
Billy Davies was delighted to introduce Viv Anderson to the waiting press at the City Ground earlier today, as the two posed for photographers with Anderson’s new shirt. Speaking to reporters Davies said “I’ve been getting all these letters and phone calls telling me how badly we need a centre half. We can’t play a waiting game and so I have acted to bring in a player who has been there and done that. I’ve said before when it comes to transfers we’re just playing catch-up with the other teams in this division and this is a prime example, I mean Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley both signed Viv Anderson on a trasnfer fifteen years ago and we’ve only just got to that stage now.”
