Welcome (again) to Viva Rovers

Doncaster Rovers have a recent history of coming back from the brink in emphatic fashion. I’m hoping the same can be said for Viva Rovers.
At the start of this month happy-go-lucky global sporting conglomerate of the people Sky closed down the Rivals website network without any prior notice, a process that killed off the old Viva Rovers. Thankfully we’re of the glass half-full type round here so initial anger has been tempered with a feeling of ‘screw you’ and now the site is going it alone. Welcome to the new Viva Rovers and bear with me as I strive to get it back to what it once was.

  5. Think the new site looks great, frequent updates, and seemingly all balanced arguments and points. Glad I stumbled across it, keep up the good work

  6. I read the piece in WSC – this is a super site and it’s much better to go it alone than to be at the call of disloyal paymasters.

  7. Just one query; has someone slipped LSD into the Tesco Mature Cheddar I’ve just had on my jacket spud or there really a series of psychedelic images following each post? What on Earth are they all about then eh?

  8. Not sure if I’m just being thick here, but is there only you Glen that can start/create a thread?

  9. Not strictly… there is no messageboard as such, but instead you can comment on any story placed on here

  10. So how do we place a topic on here?

    Posted by CusworthRovers | September 20, 2009, 11:25 pm
  11. You know when you asked me if you were being thick?

Just kidding Cussy. There is no place for ‘topics’ or ‘threads’ just comments. You can comment on any story or article, but only at the base of each article/story.

So all the comments on this page have been made effectively on the story at the top, the ‘Welcome (again) to Viva Rovers’. If say you wanted to comment on the Ipswich game from Saturday then you’d go to the article on that and be able to comment at the bottom of that page.

Basically the article itself is the ‘topic’ and only Viva Rovers writers (ie. me) can put them up, and replied from others are the ‘comments’. Does that make sense?

  12. It does make sense. It answers what I was getting at ie If I wanted to start a thread about a certain player or something about DRFC, then I cannot. I could put something in, but I would just have to stick it in any of your threads, where best I saw it fit.

  13. You could make it a group blog, with certain posters nominated as administrators.

But then any Tom, Dick or Cusworth Rovers could post a topic…..

  14. Let Cusworth do a bad joke article/post once a month to keep him happy.
