Viva Video XXIII

It all seems a very long fourteen days since Rovers last tasted football action; going down by a single goal at the hands of Coventry City. Between that match and this Saturday’s game with Watford we have been afforded a break from all things red and white hooped owing to the international fixtures.

So with that in mind I decided to choose this week’s Viva Video selection by drawing myself a Venn diagram. The left hand circle was labelled international football; the right hand circle contained, in reference to this weekend’s opponents; Watford. Where the two met in the middle I discovered an absolute gem of a video clip.

You wouldn’t perhaps associate a young Watford player with the future of the English national team, but back in 1984 a tour of South America allowed England fans to do just that. At the Maracana stadium Watford’s winger showed the Brazilians how to do football… play the clip.
