Viva Video I

Viva Rovers brings you a new regular feature to while away the working hours. In a bid to keep hold of those floating voters we’re bringing a more structured approach to Viva Rovers, with some weekly features. First of these features is this; Viva Video. Every Thursday we aim to brighten your working day by bringing you a classic football video from the midst of the world-wide web for your viewing pleasure.

Today we launch Viva Video in celebration of Viva Rovers’ new cult hero Jos Van Nieuwstadt. After a brilliant and seemingly endless demonstration in the art of the warm-up during Saturday’s draw with Blackpool the Dutchman was handed his first start at Reading on Tuesday. Jos repaid Sean O’Driscoll with his first goal in English football as he nodded home Jamie Coppinger’s cross

Jos Van Nieuwstadt’s goal subsequently gives us a welcome opportunity to link this goal. Like Jos’ effort it is a Dutch defender who had ties with Excelsior Rotterdam scoring in English league football. Ladies and gentlemen we give you Jonny Metgod. Take it away Danny Baker…
