Rovers’ midfielder Martin Woods is set to move west as he join’s Doncaster’s League One rivals Yeovil Town on loan. Woods joined Doncaster in the summer from Rotherham United in what was hailed at the time by the official club website as “a transfer to rock the world of football”. Sadly for Woods all he has really rocked is his feet beneath the substitutes bench as the impressive form of Richie Wellens, Brian Stock, Paul Green and Mark Wilson, coupled with Sean O’Driscoll’s wing-free formation have limited chances for the Scotsman.
Woods joins Russell Slade’s Yeovil on a month long loan with the extra stipulation that he will not feature for the Glovers when Doncaster face them at Huish Park next month. Despite reaching the play-off final last season Town have struggled to regain that form this campaign and currently sit eleventh in League One.
Also heading out on loan is defender Matty Noble who is set to move to Unibond League side Guiseley for the next month. Noble signed professional terms with Rovers in the summer after previously impressing with the club’s youth and reserve sides. However, despite some impressive performances in Doncaster’s pre-season fixtures the defender has not quite made the step up to the first team and moves to West Yorkshire to help gain match experience.
