The Keepmoat Stadium is set to host International football for the second time in its short existence and this time its the turn of the women’s game. Rovers’ home ground has been confirmed as the venue for the England women’s national team’s upcoming UEFA 2009 European Championship qualifier against Czech Republic. The match which will be played on Thursday 20th March with a 7:05pm kick-off.
The Keepmoat Stadium first hosted international football in October last year when the England under 19s side came to town to face Iceland. That night over 11,000 turned out for the match and it will be hoped that the 15,200 capacity stadium will be full for the visit of Czech Republic.
England’s women currently sit top of group one and will be looking to reach the finals in Finland and build on last year’s World Cup showing in China. The match with the Czech Republic will be their final qualifying match for the 2009 tournament and could prove a vital fixture.
Tickets for the match cost a bargain £5 for adults and £2.50 for children, with group booking prices also available. Its not clear whether tickets are on sale yet but when they are they will be available from the Keepmoat Stadium direct.
