Hayter Out

Sean O’Driscoll’s transfer window acquisitions of Gareth Taylor and Stuart Elliott now look all the more shrewd with the news that James Hayter is to be out of action for the next month at least. The forward is set to undergo double hernia surgery; an operation which is complicated due to James Hayter having previously undergone similar surgery.

As such keyhole surgery is not an option for Rover’s record signing and the operation plus recuperation time will mean the forward is out of action for at least four weeks. However, the blow is softened for Rovers fans with the return to fitness of Paul Heffernan and the arrival of Gareth Taylor and Stuart Elliott meaning that attacking options are not drastically limited during Hayter’s absence.
