Gas is Off

Rovers match with Bristol Rovers will no longer take place next Wednesday Thanks to the heavy rain yesterday Doncaster’s match with Bristol Rovers will now be rearranged for a later date. The original fixture had been scheduled for Saturday 5th January, but was postponed due to the Pirates FA Cup third round tie against Fulham taking precedence.

The match had been rearranged for next Wednesday (January 23rd), however Bristol Rovers held Premiership Fulham to a 2-2 draw setting up a replay which was due to be played last night. A waterlogged pitch at the Memorial Stadium meant that replay was postponed and moved to next Tuesday where it will again take precedence over the all Rovers clash.

With next weekend’s opponents Swansea also still in the FA Cup Rovers could be kicking their heals for much of January. Should the Swans win their FA Cup replay with Havant & Waterlooville tonight, then they’ll be facing Liverpool instead of the Rovers next week, meaning another football free weekend for Rovers fans.
