Welcome news for Doncaster fans today as Matt Mills has climbed through the transfer window and entered into a second loan spell with the Rovers. The Manchester City defender has today agreed a second loan spell with Doncaster that will see him join the club for the rest of the season. With no sign of an imminent return to fitness for either club captain Graeme Lee or Gordon Greer, Sean O’Driscoll has moved to bring back the twenty year old centre back to give much needed cover for Adam Lockwood and the in form Stephen Roberts.
Mills had been on loan with the Rovers at the start of the season, reuniting him with Sean O’Driscoll whom Mills played under during a loan spell with Bournemouth two years ago. The defender impressed at the heart of Rovers defence and even got himself on the score sheet with goals in consecutive games against Walsall and Cheltenham in the Autumn. However a cruiciate ligament injury sustained in training curtailed Mills initial stint at the Keepmoat as he returned to Manchester to undergo treatment.
