Confirmation today from Rovers official website that the team will be without striker Paul Heffernan until the New Year. An MRI scan on Paul Heffernan’s injured ankle has confirmed that the striker has suffered ligament damage. The Irish striker suffered his current injury during the first half of the match at Port Vale last month. In the days after the club website had originally celebrated the news that Heffernan had not broken his ankle, but ligament damage is likely to see the player out of action for just as long. Since joining the Rovers under Dave Penney Heffernan has been prevented from making a lengthy run in the team by injury. This season alone he has been sidelined with a groin strain, and a broken hand prior to his current predicament.
