Not exactly great news for Paul Heffernan but encouraging at least as it seems the injury he suffered in Saturday’s match at Port Vale may not be as serious as first thought. Heffernan limped, of sorts, from the Vale Park pitch after just over half an hours play having suffered what appeared to be quite a severe ankle injury. Initial thoghts were that the Irish striker had fractured the ankle but it is now known that is not the case. Rovers and Hefferan hope an MRI scan on Wednesday this week will reveal the actual damage to his ankle which according to the club website remains ‘severely swollen and strapped up’. If only we were in a Carry On film, think of the fun we could have.
