Hird Off On the Grapevine

More defence related news and another terrible headline to boot, as Sam Hird goes out on loan to Grimsby Town. With first team opportunities limited to sub appearances and the odd token Johnstone’s Paint Trphy match Sam Hird has been allowed to join League Two Grimsby on a month long loan deal.

Hird, made eleven first team appearances for the Rover whilst on loan at the Keepmoat Stadium last season, including a bizarre cameo up front against Northampton on the final day. However, since making a permenent move from Leeda in the summer match action has been in short supply for the twenty-year old and so he’kll join the Mariners to put games under his preverbial belt.
